Is There Anything More Important than to Know Christ Jesus and to Make Him Known in this Life?

Mission to India
The Lord has always been with us and before us from the time we arrived in Bombay, our first destination. The Lord graciously provided a flat for us in a city crowded with nearly 15 million people. Our friends here were telling us that it is a miracle for us to be able to find accomodation in an overcrowding city of Bombay, known to be severely lacking in availability of vacant flats. Normally, one would have to wait for one to two years, if not more, to find a decent place. A few days before our arrival, someone else had inquired for our present flat but was rejected by the owner. However when one of the people from the church inquired about it on our behalf, the owner was glad to let us use his fully furnished flat for one month with charge. We were awed as we witness how the Lord sees through our needs in this aspect.

The brothers and sisters here were encouraged through our humble presence. We were involved in numerous bible studies, cell group meetings and Sunday services. As we travel around in the Southern region, we found many were so hungry for the Word and it has been very taxing on Pastor Boo to constantly meet those needs.

Travelling from Bombay (western coast) to Vizag (eastern coast) will take us about 34 hours by train. Before we set off, we knew that there were cyclones activities in the eastern coast of the Bay of Bengal, spanning several days. Consequently, many lives were lost and enormous number of homes were damaged. We later got news as the board the train, that these cyclones were due to hit Vizag, our place of destination, within 32 hours. As a precaution, all the train services were suspended around Vizag. Yet by the time close to reaching our destination, the cyclones had shifted to Madras. The Lord had spare us from this calamity.

Our time in Vizag was indeed a blessing to us all. I had my Commitment training here, along with sixty other brethen. We really had a enriching time of learning together and were expected to return here, on our way back for Basic training.

After spending three weeks in Vizag, we decided to move on to Madras. When we inquired for train tickets, we were surprised to find that the seats were sold out. It was a festive season and everybody were travelling home for the new year. As the result, we extended our stay for another two weeks, and we had a chance to start another Commitment training session. Only then we realized that the Lord had His purpose for us to remain.

When we got to Madras, our host told us that we arrived just on the right time. For the last three weeks, Madras was facing a monsoon season, during which time, there were no sunshine, and flooding were all over the city. It was beginning to clear out as we arrived. Again we saw how the Lord has planned out our going out and coming in. There were many other incidents where we experienced the Lord?s goodness in protecting and guiding us throughout our travelling from one state to another, and it could probably fill a book. We are now in Nagarcoil, and providing Commitment training for a family of four and a couple. Apart from this, there are other meetings and conferences to attend to. We have one more stop to make, Trichur.

As you can see, the need is great! Continue to uphold us in your prayer, especially for Pastor Boo who is doing all the work. Pray that the Lord would show us where He wants us to start a work. And finally pray that He would send more workers as the harvest is plentiful.

I'm really glad to be part of all these, and have the opportunity to experience the leading of the Lord. Is there anything more important than to know Christ Jesus and to make Him known in this life?
