Basic Training

Basic Training, as it is called, is intended specifically to provide biblical know-how for growth in respect to salvation, to cultivate a growing relationship and friendship with the Lord Jesus. It looks at the different elements which hinder, as well as, elements which are necessary for spiritual growth.

Brief outline of the Basic (Discipleship) Training

1. Five stages of Spiritual Growth (1):
- General Introduction of the 5 stages.
- Infant Stage.

2. Five stages of Spiritual Growth (2):
- Little-Children Stage.

3. Five stages of Spiritual Growth (2):
- Children in relation to other stages.
- Children Stage.

4. Discipleship:
- A life-long commitment between a teacher and a disciple.

5. Making disciples:
- Life Evangelism.

6. Hindrance to fruitfulness:
- Idling.

7. Life in the Spirit (1):
- The 4 balanced characters of the Holy Spirit.

8. Life in the Spirit (2):
- Love & the filling of the Holy Spirit.

9. Prayer (1):
- Righteousness, Brevity, Hiddenness, Faith, Persistence & Watch and Pray.

10. Prayer (2):
- Stillness in prayer.

11. Prayer (3):
- Forgiveness.
- Our relationship with God is human-relationship sensitive.

12. Covetousness:
- The 10 commandments.
- The condition for discipleship.

13. Losing oneself:
- Losing oneself & Salvation.

14. Relating to outsiders:
- How do we relate to non-believers.

15. Exegesis:
- Assignment (An exercise on basic exegesis).

16. Workshop:
- Relationship with the Opposite Sex.
- Marriage Relationship.
- Sexual Temptation.
